Kia ora! I'm Luke Thornborough — I'm a storyteller and creative strategist offering writing, directing, editing, and campaign development across theatre, film, and brand communications.

I started out as an actor, drawn to the emotional depth and connection that performance brings. That instinct for story soon led me behind the scenes, where I began directing and writing my own work. I completed a double major in Film and English at the University of Auckland, where I deepened my understanding of narrative, language, and visual storytelling.

After graduating, I spent seven years at Designworks, one of New Zealand’s top brand agencies. There, I learned how design thinking, strategy, and storytelling could be used not just to sell—but to connect, shift culture, and build long-term audience engagement. That experience continues to shape how I approach creative work: with clarity, empathy, and a strong understanding of how to reach people.

Now, I combine those worlds— understanding of performance and production, strategy and writing—to create powerful and compelling stories.
